I had a good talk with Jez Abbot from Horticulture Week about how the British export of its traditional landscape has been so successful that there is little interest in landscapes that are appropriate to its time and space. People are accustomed to boxwood and lush lawns as a designed space, so much that the design of some of the best designed spaces that integrate naturalized features and native plantings are rendered invisible.
